I have always had a nurturing spirit. Even as a small child, I loved caring for my baby dolls and dreamed of one day helping mothers and babies in real life. I am privileged to say I am living that dream. In 2025, I will celebrate 50 years as a Registered Nurse, having worked in various hospitals and cared for countless mothers and infants. Over the years, I have earned many certifications, but the one I am most proud of is becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2006.
My professional training has been deeply enriched by personal experience. The births of my children and grandchildren have brought immense joy to my life and taught me valuable lessons through the unique challenges and triumphs that motherhood brings.
After retiring from the United States Air Force in 2009, I made Texas my forever home. Now, I work privately with new mothers, helping them navigate the ups and downs of breastfeeding. It brings me the greatest joy to guide and support mothers as they achieve their breastfeeding goals.
How can I help you?
Hi! I am Emily. I am a stay at home momma to a wonderful son, Timothy who was born in the fall of 2015. I live in the great state of Texas in one of the many suburbs of Houston. Before I was a stay at home momma, I was a nanny for 4 ½ years and before that I was a teacher for 1 ½ years. Even though I have a lot of experience with kids nothing could have prepared me for this wonderful adventure of raising a family.
I am part of several online mommy communities where I receive and give peer advice on nursing and being a great mommy. I am a Leader of my local Le Leche League. I took Bradley classes when I was pregnant and had an all natural birth at a birthing center. This was truly the best experience of my life. I have struggled with insufficient glandular tissue with means my body doesn’t produce enough milk for my baby to thrive. Because of this and issues Timothy had with being tongue and lip tied I spent 3 months primarily pumping. But this did not stop my desire to breastfeed my baby. I am happy to say that I have continued to bring Timothy to the breast and now I feed him at the breast about 4 times a day and pump about half the milk I bottle feed him.
I fill most of my time by taking care of my family and homeschooling. But I have other passions as well. I love to bake cakes and pies. Blueberry pie is the one I make most often, my husband’s favorite. I love doing crafts of all sorts. And I am a lifelong learner. Come join me on this adventure of learning about babies.
