I worked with Barbara in July of 2022. My baby Myla turns one on Sunday and I just wanted to let you know that we made it a WHOLE YEAR exclusively breastfeeding!
When we got Myla home when she was 3 days old, I had not been able to get a successful latch. I was in so much pain and my nipples were completely raw. Barbara came in to my home within a few hours notice, and LITERALLY SAVED US!!!! If it were not for Barbara and Barbs Babies, I would have given up breastfeeding the next day. Barbara immediately showed me what to do, how to successfully latch, and slowly but surely breastfeeding became as natural as it should be!!! We have not had a single issue breastfeeding since those few days and I’m so thankful we invested in Ms. Barb! I plan to continue to breastfeed until she naturally weans and I am so proud and owe all of our success to Barbs Babies. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Barbara was a gift sent to my daughter from God! I just can’t say enough about how knowledgeable and caring she is. I breast fed my children but was not able to help my daughter. Thankfully, Barb was able to come over the same day we called her. She made such a huge difference in our lives! Just can’t say enough about how grateful I am that she helped my daughter. She showed her everything she needs to know on how to increase her milk production, and nursing techniques. My new baby granddaughter (who was born at 37 weeks)is 6 days old today and she nursed for the first time. It seemed like a miracle. Thanks to you Barb for making such a huge difference and creating such happiness for us.??

We were struggling to latch and went to Barbara the day after our daughter’s birth. She was recommended by our midwife and birth class instructor. We had one consultation with Barbara where she gave us tons of resources, provided tips, exercises, and helped us practice latching while we were there. She recommended a plan for the following week. We immediately saw an improvement in our latching and overall breastfeeding experience. Barbara was in contact with us the following week to offer more guidance and feedback. We now have an eager to nurse baby who is constantly feeding. Thank you so much Barbara! We are enjoying nursing now!

I can already tell you that what I am about to write will not do Barbara justice. Simply put, I think finding Barbara was like falling on a blessing mine. My husband and I are both type A engineers. When we decide to do something, we put our whole effort into it. This being said, we worked with a good number of lactation consultants. Barbara was BY FAR the best. She didn’t just recite the basics. She listened and customized an approach specific to our needs. After our first consult with her, (when my son was 2 weeks old) we not only gained a better breastfeeding relationship with my son, but we were able to get 4-hour blocks of sleep! Turns out, we knew all the right things to do, but not the right order to do them. From that first meeting, we got to know Barbara well and are very impressed with not just her knowledge and extensive range of experience, but her application of her skills. We love her balance between the natural way and the hospital approach. She has very sound judgment with scientific backing on when to lean one way or the other. As I write this, I am watching my precious 8 week old daughter sleep. We owe her healthy start in life to Barbara. Not only did we take refresher Bradley classes with her, but she was the support we needed via text and phone leading up to our labor. She was present at the labor/birth of my daughter. Her “real time advice” was crucial to the outcome (100% natural un-medicated hospital birth) and to my emotional health/sanity through it all. Barbara has earned our full trust. I have been known to have high expectations and Barbara has exceeded them all. I couldn’t recommend anyone more fully.

Let me start off by saying that this is the most deserving recommendation that I’ve ever written. When my first child was born, I nursed him for about a year without any issues. Because of that I thought that I’d be able to nurse my daughter just fine. However, that was not the case. She was in the NICU after delivery which greatly affected my ability to breastfeed because I was away from her during the night. Sadly, my supply never seemed to come in. Once we brought her home I was only able to pump about 5 mls tops in a 45-minute period which was devastating. Most days I was only pumping 3 mls. I was emotionally and physically exhausted to the point of crying everyday because I felt like I was failing my baby. One night at about 1am I decided to search for a LC online and that’s when found I found Barbara. I immediately contacted her and heard back first thing in the morning. We set up a meeting in our home right away because at that point I was at my breaking point and ready to give up. Long story short, she’s something like my Lactation Fairy Godmother. Barbara is extremely knowledgeable in her field and was has such a nurturing personally. She immediately made me feel comfortable talking to her about the issues we were having. She took the time to listen to all of our concerns and explained everything to us in great detail without ever making us feel rushed. I also was really impressed that she knew so much about PCOS and how it can affects breastfeeding. Before meeting with Barbara, I had tried it all, the supplements, lactation cookies, pumping round the round-the-clock, etc, etc but nothing was working. If you’re having trouble breastfeeding, I encourage you contact Barbara. My baby is now 7 months old and thanks to Barbara I’m still breastfeeding her! I’m so grateful for finding her.

When I decided I wanted to have children, I knew that trying to exclusively breastfeed them was something that was very important to me. When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I attended the breastfeeding class offered by our hospital, read several books, watched multiple YouTube videos, and surfed the internet. I felt ready to tackle the challenge of breastfeeding.
However, once my daughter was born, we really struggled. Frustrated and scared that my dreams of having an amazing breastfeeding relationship with my daughter were going out the window, I decided to seek out more individual support and contacted Barbara.
Immediately, Barbara provided me with a wealth of information and we made plans for her to personally visit me and my daughter at our house a few days later. Her kind and understanding disposition made me feel optimistic and excited. Once Barbara came over and worked with us, we were off and our amazing breastfeeding journey began! Barbara not only helped me learn to feed my daughter, but she taught my husband how to support us; she helped him feel included. The skills she taught us were easily used once she left.
I have learned that as my baby grows, our breastfeeding adventure charges into new territories. Barbara has been an amazing support. When I have questions, she is quick to respond to texts or emails. Two months in, we had a setback when my daughter went on a nursing strike. I panicked and texted Barbara who came over that day to get us back on track.
I am beyond grateful to Barbara for the knowledge and, most importantly, the emotional support she has given me. She is a supportive and sweet person who listens to all my concerns and always puts me at ease. She reassures me that I can do it (plus my daughter LOVES her). Thanks to her, I know my daughter and I are well equipped to have the breastfeeding relationship I have always dreamed of.
